Clinical negligence

    What exactly is clinical negligence?

Clinical negligence occurs when a dentist, optician, physiotherapist, chiropractor, acupuncturist, cosmetic professional, or even care home staff fails in their duty of care to you. It refers to a divergence from acknowledged professional norms that causes you harm or worsens an existing condition

Clinical negligence is frequently caused by an inappropriate action or a failure to act

The following therapeutic areas are common sites of clinical negligence.

Misdiagnosis or failure to diagnose, inappropriate extractions, infections, anaesthetic issues, inadequate crown or bridge treatments, and dental implant errors are all examples of dental negligence claims.
Optician negligence includes inaccurate lens prescription, misdiagnosis or failure to diagnose, delayed therapy, and laser surgical errors.
Compensation for cosmetic and beauty treatments ranges from infection, implant rupture, and nerve damage in cosmetic surgery to botox and filler problems, laser errors, and eye or tanning injuries in beauty treatment.
Misdiagnosis or failure to diagnose, failure to medicate or deliver the incorrect medication, failure to provide basic levels of care, and even abuse are all examples of care home negligence lawsuits.

Causation must also be shown in a successful clinical negligence claim. This means that negligence caused your harm or aggravated an existing condition.
